I am a private landlord and one of my tenants recently moved out. The property was reasonably well cared for on the surface but in fact has over £2,000 worth of 'damage'. The most conspicuous is that he has installed fitted wardrobes and cut the existing carpet to suit and undertaken electrical works himself (contrary to the IEE wiring and Building Regs) which need to be corrected.
